Roger Corman’s Camel Spiders Coming to Your Home Soon!!
I’m not an arachnophobe; seriously. My fear of spiders goes waaaaay beyond what scares an arachnophobe. Even a goddamn daddy long legs freezes me where I stand. Yeah, I petrified of spiders. So when I see that there’s a new Roger Corman-produced, Jim Wynorski-directed creature feature starring some naturally huge spiders, well my sphincter tightened up. The film is called CAMEL SPIDERS and stars C. Thomas Howell. Nice. Here’s the plot crunch:
Based on actual creatures that for years have tormented our armed forces in the Middle East, these creatures have now invaded the southwestern deserts of the United States. The camel spiders now freely hunt for prey, unafraid of any predator – including man. No place is safe; no one is beyond their paralyzing sting. In the end a small band of hearty fighters are forced to make one last stand against the creatures.
Now check out the clip below. The audio is a bit annoying because we first hear the English and then quickly hear the translated language (Russian, I think). But the images speak loud and clear. I was horrified at the images of giant spiders jumping onto people’s heads and biting liberally. Fuck me!! But this is a Corman-produced film so the spiders scream when they are shot. Seriously. Here’s the clip:
CAMEL SPIDERS is set to hit DVD and Blu-ray on March 27, 2012. Someone please tell me why the hell CAMEL SPIDERS isn’t premiering on the SyFy channel?? More on this one as the info comes in.
