International Trailer for Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘Twixt’ Hits the Web
I’m liking this headline!! Considering Coppola hasn’t directed anything since 2009 (TETRO), I’ve missed this guy’s style. But even better is that he’s coming back into the limelight with the horror-thriller, TWIXT (Coppola hasn’t been in the horror genre since 1992’s DRACULA and an uncredited director’s gig on the disastrous SUPERNOVA (2000/1). The French company Pathe has swooped up TWIXT to distributed and sell in France, but no one has yet stepped up to the plate for U.S distribution. The film stars Val Kilmer, Bruce Dern, Elle Fanning, David Paymer, and Ben Chaplin and is based on a short story Coppola himself wrote (he also wrote the screenplay). Here’s the plot crunch:
A writer with a declining career arrives in a small town as part of his book tour and gets caught up in a murder mystery involving a young girl. That night, in a dream, he is approached by a mysterious young ghost named V. He’s unsure of her connection to the murder in the town but is grateful for the story being handed to him. Ultimately he is led to the truth of the story, surprised to find that the ending has more to do with his own life than he could ever have anticipated.
This one sounds pretty interesting and I’m liking the cast. Kilmer’s been on a dry streak for a while, but I still think he’s a damn good actor. If anyone can get a good performance outta him it’ll be Coppola!! Here’s the trailer:
What do ya think? Looking forward to Coppola returning to the horror genre?
Stay Bloody!!!
