Trailer Drops for Abel Ferrara’s, 4:44 Last Day on Earth

Abel Ferrara is no newcomer to the horror genre. He directed 1979’s classic, THE DRILLER KILLER; the 1981 exploitation opus MS. 45; 1993’s BODY SNATCHERS; and 1995’s THE ADDICTION. Ferrara is back, this time with a story about a very somber look at what might happen when human beings know they have one more day to live. The film is 4:44 LAST DAY ON EARTH and it may not be a straight up horror flick, but the material definitely has one foot in the genre. The film is directed and written by Ferrara and stars Willem Dafoe, Paz de la Huerta, and Natasha Lyonne. There’s no set release date yet but expect this one later in 2012. For now you can check out the trailer, but be warned; you’ll need a hug afterwards. It’s best to watch this one with your favorite stuffed animal!!

  1. Katie says:

I’m young, so I’ve never heard of Abel Ferrara or seen his flicks (I do like picking up the odd old movie frequently-I’m currently working on watching Dario Argento movies for instance), but I do know that Willhem Defoe is a tour de force all his own. I will be checking this one out based on that fact alone. It could rock my psyche, sort of like Bellflower did, even though it is not overtly violent. I love indie movies-they say a lot sometimes!

    • Ferrara is an interesting director. His career is one filled with straight up exploitation flicks, some seriously ‘heavy’ dramas, and then some flat out misfires. You should check him out, Katie!!
