McKinney’s Flesh Eaters Takes the Stoker Award at this Year’s World Horror Convention
Anything Horror would like to congratulate Joe McKinney for his zombie novel FLESH EATERS (my review here) taking home the much sought after Stoker Award at this year’s World Horror Convention. The convention was held in Salt Lake City, Utah this year so I wasn’t able to attend, but I’m pretty sure Joe knows he always has the support of anythinghorror.com behind him!!
I became a huge fan of Joe’s last year after reading his DEAD CITY (my review here) and soon after became as ravenous as the zombies he writes about in reading up all of his novels and short stories. Then earlier this year I finally had the pleasure of meeting Joe at a book reading he did in Austin for THE RED EMPIRE AND OTHER STORIES (my review here). Joe turned out to be, and pardon the pun, a ‘regular Joe’ and just a super nice guy who really appreciates his loyal fan base.
So once again, a huge congrats to Joe for his FLESH EATERS taking home the Stoker Award. This is a well-deserved award for a writer who gets better and more mature with each short story, novella, and novel he writes. Be sure to check out Joe’s latest release, THE CROSSING: A ZOMBIE NOVELLA (one I still need to read!!), and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for his upcoming releases:
