New Piranha 3DD One-Sheet & Official One-Sheet are a Feast for the Eyes
Okay; if you know the director and writers behind the upcoming PIRANHA 3DD, then you’ll know the above headline is fucking brilliant!! A new one-sheet recently dropped for PIRANHA 3DD and it’s … um … nice. Really nice. If you’re like me you’ve never really understood the “3DD” reference. What does it mean? Is there something more amazing than 3D that these filmmakers discovered? Are the visuals gonna be so amazing that we’re gonna actually feel the piranha swimming around us and brushing up against us? What does it mean, dammit??
Yes people, I’m joking. All of us immediately knew that the “3DD” moniker was referring to titties … big, fake tittles!! And now we have confirmation with this new one-sheet:
PIRANHA 3DD re-teams FEAST director John Gulager and writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan in the sequel starring Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, David Koechner, Meagan Tandy, Paul James Jordan, Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Hector Jimenez, Adrian Martinez, Clu Gulager, Gary Busey, Katrina Bowden, Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames, Paul Scheer and David Hasselhoff. PIRANHA 3DD is hitting theater and VOD on June 1, 2012. Here’s the plot crunch:
After the terror unleashed on Lake Victoria in PIRANHA 3D, the pre-historic school of blood thirsty piranhas are back. This time, no one is safe from the flesh eating fish as they sink their razor sharp teeth into the visitors of summer’s best attraction, The Big Wet Water Park. Christopher Lloyd (BACK TO THE FUTURE) reprises his role as the eccentric piranha expert with survivor Paul Scheer (THE LEAGUE) and a partially devoured Ving Rhames (PULP FICTION) back for more fish frenzy. David Hasselhoff trades in the sandy beaches of “Baywatch” to be a celebrity lifeguard at the racy water park. Prepare for double the terror, double the action and double the D’s in this sequel also starring Gary Busey (LETHAL WEAPON), Katrina Bowden (30 ROCK), Danielle Panabaker (THE CRAZIES), Matt Bush (ADVENTURELAND), Chris Zylka (THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN) and David Koechner (ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND OF RON BURGUNDY).

Oh, DDear (see what I did there? lol) Seems like since…well, as long as I can almost remember…horror movies (especially lesser ones and b-rate ones) have been synonymous with random tittie shots. It got to the point where I couldn’t see a movie without also having to see a pair of tits, a fact made more irritating by the lack of good “dick” shots for us girls. While I agree most fake boobs ARE horrible and scary, they don’t really need to be present to MAKE a horror movie (and sometimes if they are used too much and out of context, they kind of take something away from the film somehow.) Don’t get me wrong…boobs are great, but, ya know…
Now either most 80′s/90′s directors have gotten over their need to put tits in EVERYTHING, or (more likely) I’ve just gotten used to it.
You’re absolutely right, AlienRedQueen … horror movies and titties have a long and wonderful history. Even today horror films still throw in a little boobage whenever they can!!
But the team making PIRANHA 3DD is the same group behind the FEAST trilogy … they are a crazy, gore-loving group!! I’m really looking forward to seeing what they do in the sequel!!
