Bunch of New Stills & Trailer for the Upcoming Dark Fantasy, Rose White

Rose White banner

One of Anything Horror’s favorite indie horror actresses, Deneen Melody, dropped me an email this weekend about the new short film she’s in titled ROSE WHITE.  Here’s the press release:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ROSE WHITE NOT ALL FAIRY TALES END HAPPILY EVER AFTER

Breakwall Pictures, in association with TinyCore Pictures (III Slices of Life), presents the official press release and theatrical trailer for ROSE WHITE, a dark fantasy thriller based on “Snow-White and Rose- Red” by the Brothers Grimm. The trailer features original music from the film by composer Matt Novack.

STARRING: Erin Breen, Deneen Melody, Daniel Kuhlman, Tom Lodewyck, Anthony Fleming III, Celeste Williams, Valerie Meachum, Sean Bolger, David Goodloe, Thurston Hill, Sheri Savage, Marla Seidell, Stephanie Andrews, Jay DeLaRosa, Ann Marie Boska, and Brooke Lodewyck.

WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY: Daniel Kuhlman
CO-DIRECTOR: Brian Kilborn
STORY BY: Deneen Melody (Based on “Snow-White and Rose-Red” by the Brothers Grimm)

SYNOPSIS: Through Lilly’s (Deneen Melody) eyes, the world is a dark but beautiful place, where she and her sister, Rosalyn (Erin Breen), live happily in the heart of an enchanted forest. In reality, however, each day is a battle for Rosalyn, who has been forced to take up prostitution in order to provide for herself and her delusional sister and simply pay the rent for their inner-city, tenement apartment.

An odd twist of fate brings an unlikely ally into their lives, in the form of a local drug addict (Daniel Kuhlman). Together, they form a plot against a vicious crime boss (Tom Lodewyck); a plan that will either lead to their salvation or their doom.

Based on the Grimm Brothers fairy tale “Snow-White and Rose-Red”, ROSE WHITE pits dark reality against even darker fantasy, in a world where there are no happy endings.

The film is now making the festival rounds, so keep an eye out for it!

Be sure to check out ROSE WHITE on Facebook, follow the film on Twitter, and check out the official ROSE WHITE website.

Every film I’ve seen Melody in, she kills it.  She manages to capture her characters perfectly and play up all the subtle elements and nuances with just the right notes. So I’m really looking forward to seeing what she does in ROSE WHITE!!  Now check out the stills and trailer below, and a huge thanks to Deneen Melody for passing along the press release to me.  On a side note, wait until you see the tills below … the make-up artist deserves huge kudos because they managed to do the impossible and make Melody look unattractive (I thought I’d never say that!!):

Stay Bloody!!
