Trailer & New Artwork Drop for The Cohasset Snuff Film … is it Real or …
Here’s a film I stumbled on while making my way across Facebook. The film is called THE COHASSET SNUFF FILM and it’s director, Edward Payson, is claiming that this is based on true events of Cohasset, Massachusetts high school serial killer, Collin Mason. Considering I can’t find any actual news articles about Mason, I’m assuming this is a fictional account that is being promoted as a real life event in order to garner more buzz. Check out the plot crunch:
In 2009, the small town of Cohasset, Massachusetts was rocked with tragedy. A 17-year-old high school senior named Collin Mason murdered three classmates. All the murders were videotaped. Collin uploaded the video to the Internet, and for three days, the world viewed the murders of these three innocent teens. Through legal action, the parents of the victims were able to remove all footage from the Internet. The impact of this video is still being felt in Cohasset today. Bootleg copies of this footage are still passed around and downloaded through illegal means. The video has become infamous, and is now referred to as The Cohasset Snuff Film.
On the official COHASSET SNUFF FILM Facebook page, the filmmakers have this to say:
The purpose of this documentary is to show the massive change that this video effected in the town of Cohasset. To examine, the original video footage that Collin made, weeks before the murders. Combined with interviews by people connected or involved with this story. Families, fellow classmates of Collin’s, the victims, and the police officers.
Our documentary, The Cohasset Snuff Film titled after this shocking video that has become legend, wants to shine a light into the dark corners of Cohasset. An investigation into what could turn a 17-year-old teenager into a cold-blooded voyeur, and how one simple video could forever change a town.
Did you dig the one-sheet above? That poster speaks volumes about this film. I think it’s safe to say that this is a fictional film about a fictional series of events in the small Massachusetts town of Cohasset. If not, then this is an extremely exploitive way of dealing with a series of true life murders!! But like I said, I’m digging the poster!! Now check out the trailer:
What do you think?
Stay Bloody!!!

I thinks this actually happened. My grandfather lives in Massachusetts and mentioned this story at a family gathering once…
That’s interesting Gerry. I’ll have to look into this.
