Walking Dead Producer Setting Her Sites on Aliens!!
THE WALKING DEAD executive producer, Gale Anne Hurd, has proven she’s not afraid of any zombies. She’s conquered that world and is now setting her sites on the next (hopefully) big thing … Aliens. Well, specifically Area 51. The Hollywood Reporter has reported that it’s including Annie Jacobsen’s best selling book AREA 51 in its development pipeline (the full titled is AREA 51: AN UNCENSORED HISTORY OF AMERICA’S TOP SECRET MILITARY BASE):
Published in May, Jacobsen’s book revolves around the famed military installation in the world that has never been acknowledged by the U.S. government and explores the myths about the area and those who believe that region is home to aliens, underground tunnel systems and nuclear facilities. Jacobsen interviewed 19 men who served on the base and additional servicemen who were employed there.
Gale Anne Hurd is on board to executive produce with Todd E. Kessler attached to write the script. This AMC series will take place in the 50s and 60s and will focus on those who work at the base and protect the country’s secrets — including the remains of the alleged alien crash at Roswell. Hhmmm; is it just me or are you getting a very distinctive EUREKA vibe here?
AMC is looking to get some new powerhouse shows established since both MAD MEN and BREAKING BAD are quickly nearing the end of their runs.
Stay Bloody!!!
