Brian Yuzna’s Amphibious Finally Dropping on DVD!!
Two years. Two friggin’ years since we’ve heard anything about Brian Yuzna’s AMPHIBIOUS: CREATURE OF THE DEEP. Wait; you’re not familiar with Yuzna’s work? Seriously? Ever hear of the little films RE-ANIMATOR and FROM BEYOND (he’s a producer)? What about SOCIETY, BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR, RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD III, THE DENTIST, and BEYONG RE-ANIMATOR?? Any horror fan needs to be familiar with this man!!
His giant sea scorpion flick, AMPHIBIOUS: CREATURE OF THE DEEP, is finally hitting DVD on October 9, 2012. Yuzna directed and co-wrote with San Fu Maltha, John Penney, and Somtow Sucharitkul and it stars Mohammad Aditya, Steven Baray, and Dorman Borisman. Check out the plot crunch:
Marine biologist Skylar Shane hires an expert charter boat captain, Jack Bowman, to help her find prehistoric life form samples in the north Sumatran Sea. During the expedition they meet a gang of smugglers headquartered on a fishing platform in the middle of the sea with a young orphan boy among them who begs Skylar to take him away. She is determined to help him, not knowing what lurks beneath the dark inky water, waiting to surface.
Yuzna may not be the most consistent genre director out there, but even his less-than-stellar flicks are better than most of the dreck out there today!! Check out the trailer:

Great scene at the beginning of this movie. It’s sort of a chestburster done in a somewhat different way!
Unfortunately the film doesn’t maintain the fun from the beginning!!
If you are looking for something to complain about, you will always find something! If not your wife passes away, your only child will fall off a very high cliff! I mean, come on!, BE FAIR! You can’t dwell on EVERYTHING!
