Official (Un-Impressive) Evil Dead Remake Plot Crunch Drops

Evil Dead1

Right on the heels of the official CARRIE remake plot crunch dropping, now we’re getting the official EVIL DEAD remake plot crunch, and I must say that I’m not all that impressed. It doesn’t sound bad per se, but it also doesn’t sound impressive at all. In fact it’s pretty vague and there’s a lot of room for things to go wrong here. Ghost House Pictures is producing the remake for today’s audience that’s been promised to be high on the horror, gore, and plot twists. The screenplay was written by Fede Alvarez (who’s also directing) and Rodo Sayagues with Diablo Cody brought in to tweak the dialogue (?!!?). The film stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Elizabeth Blackmore, and Jessica Lucas.

So hold on tight … here’s the official plot crunch for the EVIL DEAD remake:

In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

Really?? That’s it?? Oookay. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this one doesn’t completely suck out loud.

Stay Bloody!!!
