Casting News Drops for the Horror-Thriller Wolves
Man it’s great to see some new horror films in development that don’t have zombies or vampires in them!! Don’t get me wrong, I love zombies and vampires (when done right) but lately … ya know. So seeing a werewolf flick, WOLVES, picking up steam as it aims towards a Fall shooting schedule in Toronto is exciting. Wolves will be written and directed by David Hayter, and casting news looks pretty promising as well.
According to Variety:
Jason Momoa (“Game of Thrones”) and Merritt Patterson are joining Lucas Till in werewolf thriller “Wolves,” with David Hayter helming from his own script in his feature directing debut.
Copperheart Entertainment, French financier-sales agent TF1 Intl. and Telefilm Canada will co-finance “Wolves,” set to shoot in Toronto this fall. Copperheart’s Steve Hoban is producing with Benedict Carver, Steven Paul and Hartley Gorenstein exec producing.
Entertainment One has acquired Canadian rights to the film. The producers will handle sales rights in the U.S., the U.K. and Benelux while TF1 Intl. will handle the rest of the world.
Now check out the plot crunch:
The coming-of-age story of Cayden Richards. Forced to hit the road after the murder of his parents, Cayden wanders, lost, without purpose… Until he meets a certifiable lunatic named Wild Joe, who sets him on a path to the ominous town of Lupine Ridge, to hunt down the truths of his history. But in the end, who’s really hunting whom?
The “coming-of-age” aspect kinda scares me and I’m betting dollars to donuts that this will end up PG-13, but I’m always optimistic. Remember that INSIDIOUS was PG-13!!
What do you think?
Stay Bloody!!!

YES! Wolves and Jason Mamoa… That wolf drawing reminds me of the ones in Cycle of the Werewolf. Hope they do the monsters right.
It always boils down to getting the creatures right!!
