Will Smith Gets all Biblical in the Vampire Flick, The Redemption of Cain
I’ve been wondering why we haven’t gotten a modern day retelling of the first murder, the story of Cain and Able. Not that I’ve been looking forward to it, mind you, but it seems it’s a story that should pretty much write itself. Well it seems my thoughts are being read and Sony Pictures Entertainment is moving forward with THE REDEMPTION OF CAIN. According to The Wrap,
[THE REDEMPTION OF CAIN] is an epic retelling of the Biblical tale of sibling rivalry. The project, which is in development, is aiming to begin filming in July 2013 … The film, which tells the story of Cain and Abel with a vampiric twist, is looking at shooting in London and Jordan with the exteriors shot in Morocco.
Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment is producing the film. Francine Maisler is coming on to cast the film in the next few weeks.
Earlier this summer there were reports that Will Smith wanted to direct this film, and two years ago he reported that he was gonna star in and produce this project (which was then titled LEGEND OF CAIN). Whatever. I can’t even remember the last good film Smith made or was associated with. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air?
Stay Bloody!!!
