ABC Sticking with 666 Park Avenue

666pa1

This is something you don’t see very often: a network is sticking by a show, in this case it’s 666 PARK AVENUE, despite horrible ratings. Did you see the premier episode? Yeah; I didn’t think so. I watched it and was unfortunately bored to tears. There just wasn’t anything there to grab you. The acting was good but that’s about it. According to Variety, ABC has ordered two additional scripts for 666 PARK AVENUE. That’s putting a lot of faith into both the series and the writers. I hope it pays off for them!!

In case you missed it, here’s the plot crunch:

At the ominous address of 666 Park Avenue, anything you desire can be yours. Everyone has needs, desires, and ambition. For the residents of The Drake, these will all be met, courtesy of the building’s mysterious owner, Gavin Doran. But every Faustian contract comes with a price. When Jane Van Veen and Henry Martin, an idealistic young couple from the Midwest, are offered the opportunity to manage the historic building, they not only fall prey to the machinations of Doran and his mysterious wife, Olivia, but unwittingly begin to experience the shadowy, supernatural forces within the building that imprison and endanger the lives of the residents inside. Sexy, seductive, and inviting, The Drake maintains a dark hold over all of its residents, tempting them through their ambitions and desires, in this chilling new drama that’s home to an epic struggle of good versus evil.

What’d ya think of the premier episode?

Stay Bloody!!!

  1. Sounds kind of like a serialized version of Needful Things.

I get this sick feeling that the big 3 networks are having meetings where some poor writer is being tasked with making a ‘horror’ centric series that appeals to ‘a specific demographic’. How else can we explain shitastic crap like 666 or that Mockingbird Lane nonsense? If they want the numbers AMC and FX are getting, they need to get serious and go for the uncomfortable–that’s what successful horror does; it makes you either cringe, or say “WTF”.

    • Well said, Gynocrat!! The networks will soon find out that the mainstream will watch their watered-down attempts at “horror”, but the real horror fan, who in general are very loyal, won’t give their shit-products a 2nd look. FX & AMC know how to do horror right!!

are you kidding me ? this show is a good one ! it does give you the creep. okay maybe it needs a little bit more it totally feels more horror than american horror story:asylum

    • I gotta disagree with ya here, Alphatoda. I didn’t get any good horror vibes from 666. I thought the pilot was slow and lumbering and after the 2nd episode I completely lost interest. It’s a shame … it’s a great cast. Just another watered-down network “horror” project.
