New Bates Motel Posters Drop … Get Ready!!

Bates Motel posterWe are just burning through January!! Next week Guillermo del Toro’s MAMA comes out (I can’t wait) and before you know it it’ll be March. What’s so special about March, you may ask? March 18, 2013 is the premier of A&E’s BATES MOTEL. To promote the upcoming release, the network has released a few new teaser posters. Check them out after the press release:

A&E Network will premiere the new original scripted drama series “Bates Motel” from executive producers Carlton Cuse (“Lost”) and Kerry Ehrin (“Friday Night Lights”) on Monday, March 18th, at 10 PM ET/PT. “Bates Motel” is a contemporary prequel to the genre-defining film Psycho and promises to give viewers an intimate portrayal of how Norman Bates’ psyche unravels through his teenage years. Fans will have access to the dark, twisted backstory of Norman Bates and how deeply intricate his relationship with his mother, Norma, truly is.

The series stars Academy Award nominee Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air, The Departed), Freddie Highmore (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Finding Neverland), Max Thieriot (Disconnect), Olivia Cooke (Blackout), and Nicola Peltz (The Last Airbender). Season One also co-stars Nestor Carbonell (“Lost,” The Dark Knight Rises) and Mike Vogel (“Pan Am”). “Bates Motel” is produced by Universal Television for A&E Network. Cuse and Ehrin serve as executive producers for Carlton Cuse Productions.

“Carlton and Kerry crafted a fascinating backstory for Norman and Norma Bates that has been brought to life by this incredible cast,” said Bob DeBitetto, President and GM of A&E Network and Bio Channel. “It’s thought-provoking television at its finest, and we’re thrilled to bring it to the A&E family.”

In “Bates Motel,” following the tragic death of her husband, Norma Bates buys a motel on the outskirts of the idyllic coastal town of White Pine Bay, seeking a fresh start. As Norma and Norman get ensconced in their new home, they discover this town isn’t quite what it seems, and the locals aren’t so quick to let them in on their secrets. But Mrs. Bates and her son are done being pushed around and will do whatever it takes to survive – and will do whatever it takes to protect their own secrets.

Now check out the new posters.

Are you looking forward to checking this one out?

Stay Bloody!!!

I want to see this, I recall the “prequel” film with Olivia Hussey and Henry Thomas, some part were ok and others dragged. I want to see this and hope they don’t make Norma into the normal one 0_o I want to see how twisted people deal with other less twisted people.

    • I remember that prequel, Gynocrat. I can’t remember too many details about it, though.

I’m kinda hoping we see a young helled up Norman & not, like you wrote, a normal Norman messed up by a screwed up mom. That’s been done to death!!

I actually own the book (yes, I’m that nerdy) and I remember being so let down that Norman wasn’t the sexualized hottie he was in the Hitchcock film. (Yes, I like Anthony Perkins – don’t judge me!) You couldn’t help but feel that Norma and Norman deserved each other in that wholesome Ed & Augusta Gein sort of way.

I hope its a ensemble serial in the veign of Twin Peaks–a show chock full of excellent weirdos.

      • Nerdy?? You’re worried about being nerdy HERE?? Lol

What TV needs is a new TWIN PEAKS. I absolutely loved everything about that show. Sure the 2nd season was a bit … what’s the word … “off”?? But I still loved it.

I couldn’t agree more on Peaks! Duchovny in a dress, Deputy Andy (I spent nearly every episode wondering when he was going to be killed)n and the little man in the red room! –I also learned the word ‘Garmonbozia’.

      • I’d completely forgotten about Duchovny in the dress!!! Great memories of that show … and it’s good to try and find a way to use “Garmonozia” in every day conversation!! Lol

I’m watching TWIN PEAKS on Netflix, never having gotten into it the first time around, and it’s definitely one that wouldn’t get made today… 🙂

      • How ya liking TWIN PEAKS? I was hopelessly addicted from the pilot episode!! But you’re absolutely right; TWIN PEAKS would never have gotten made today. ABC network should be applauded for taking on such an edgy project.

Based on the posters alone, I could really get into watching this, far more than I might have done without them LOL
