Casting News for Dexter Season 8
A new recurring character will be joining the cast of DEXTER in it’s 8th (and possibly final) season. The character’s name is Dr. Evelyn Vogel and she’s a formidable and smart neuro-psychiatrist in her late 50s who assists the law in profiling criminals. And now the news has dropped who’ll be playing this role. According to EW.com, British actress Charlotte Rampling will be playing the role which is described as a role having “a significant impact on next season’s story.”
Joining Rampling in season eight in a recurring role is the just announced addition of Sean Patrick Flanery, who will have “a major recurring role” in the upcoming eight season:
Flanery is a good actor and it sounds like between these two new recurring characters, the pressure’s going to be on Dexter to keep his identity a secret!! Now what about all the talk about this being the last season of DEXTER? Is it? According to Deadline.com, it might not be:
Showtime’s entertainment president David Nevins would not saywhether Dexter‘s upcoming eighth season would be its last as had been widely expected before the veteran found creative rejuvenation and hit ratings highs in Season 7. “I think I will clarify before Dexter goes on the air for this next season (in June),” Nevins said. “There’s a clear end game in place.” It is unclear whether the Elroy character would be part of that end game.
I think we all know the Laws of Hollywood … if a TV show or movie is getting great ratings or making a ton of money, that project will continue!! I’m thinking we’ll be seeing a season nine.
Now dig on the extended trailer for season eight of DEXTER:
Stay Bloody!!!
