AMC Developing The Terror for TV

terrorbook__130213193628According to, AMC is currently developing THE TERROR, a novel written by Dan Simmons, for TV:

AMC has put in development The Terror, a drama series adaptation of the 2007 bestselling novel by Dan Simmons, which is being executive produced by Scott Free TV, Television 360 and feature producer Alexandra Milchan.

This adaptation is being written by David Kajganich and the basic story of THE TERROR is set in 1847 when the crew of a Royal Naval expedition to find the Arctic’s treacherous Northwest Passage discovers instead a monstrous predator a cunning and vicious Gothic horror that stalks the ships in a desperate game of survival, the consequences of which could endanger the region and its native people forever.  It looks as though AMC is staying in the genre, and who can blame them?  With the success of THE WALKING DEAD they’d be foolish not to milk this cow a while longer.

The StandOn a side note, David Kajganich is writing another book adaptation for THE STAND which is of course based on Stephen King’s novel.  THE STAND is being developed for Warner Brothers.

More on both these projects as info for them comes in.
