If you’re a gamer who loves the horror genre then I’m sure you’re already familiar with the video game, DEAD RISING. The game offers great zombie violence as you hack your way through hordes of the living dead. The game is so popular, in fact, that Crackle is adapting a live-action version of the Capcom game titled, DEAD RISING: WATCHTOWER. The film is directed by Zach Lipovsky, written by Tim Carter, and stars Keegan Connor Tracy, Jesse Metcalfe, Meghan Ory, Dennis Haysbert, Virginia Madsen, and Rob Riggle. Check out the plot crunch:
Dead Rising: Watchtower takes place during a large-scale zombie outbreak. When a mandatory government vaccine fails to stop the infection from spreading, the four leads must evade infection while also pursuing the root of the epidemic, with all signs pointing to a government conspiracy. Politics, public paranoia, and media coverage play an important role in the story’s narrative.
And if you missed my last update on this film, here’s the trailer:
The trailer definitely captures the craziness and fun spirit of the video game. DEAD RISING: WATCHTOWER will premiere exclusively on Sony’s Crackle service in the U.S. on March 27, 2015, and will then be getting a DVD and digital release. And for all you gaming heads, Dead Rising 3 will be available on Xbox One the same day the film is released on Crackle.
