Check out the Ultimate Devil Mash Up Courtesy of The Last Exorcism Part II

Last Exorcism 2 posterOver the years the devil has been quite busy. He’s been trying to possess people of all ages, races, religious backgrounds, and belief systems. Hell, he’s even possessed a few animals over the years!! But now you can explore all of the scary, memorable, fun, and unique forms that good old Beelzebub has taken cinematically. This cool video has been put together to help promote THE LAST EXORCISM PART II. THE LAST EXORCISM PART II is directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly, written by Donnelly and Damien Chazelle, and stars Ashley Bell, Julia Garner, Spencer Treat Clark, David Jensen, and Tarra Riggs. Dig on the plot crunch:

Continuing where the first film left off, Nell Sweetzer (Ashley Bell) is found terrified and alone in rural Louisiana. Back in the relative safety of New Orleans, Nell realizes that she can’t remember entire portions of the previous months only that she is the last surviving member of her family. Just as Nell begins the difficult process of starting a new life, the evil force that once possessed her is back with other, unimaginably horrific plans that mean her last exorcism was just the beginning.

Looking forward to seeing this one?

New Poster Drops for the Upcoming The Last Exorcism Part II

Last Exorcism 2 posterTo the left is the new one sheet for the upcoming THE LAST EXORCISM PART II. I’m digging this poster but I gotta admit that I was thoroughly unimpressed with the original THE LAST EXORCISM. I just couldn’t get into it. Part II is directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly, written by Gass-Donnelly and Damien Chazelle, and stars Ashley Bell. The film is set to hit theaters on March 1, 2013. Check out the plot crunch:

Trailer & Poster Drop for The Last Exorcism Part II

the-last-exorcism-part-2-posterShouldn’t this one be in all fairness titled, “The Last Exorcism Part 2: No Seriously, We Mean it This Time!!”?  This one’s not taking too long to crank out (which is always a bad sign), but THE LAST EXORCISM PART II is slated to hit theaters this March.  The trailer and poster (in the upper left) have recently dropped and well as a working plot crunch:

Hhmmm.  Why am I getting a THE EXORCIST 2 vibe all the sudden?  This time out THE LAST EXORCISM PART II is being directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly, who has zero horror credits to his name, is written by Glass-Donnelly and Damien Chazelle, and stars Ashley Bell, Spencer Treat Clark, Andrew Sensenig, Julia Garner, David Jensen, and Raeden Greer.  Check out the trailer below:

What do you think?  Any chance this follow up is going to be good or at least interesting?

Big Casting News for The Last Exorcism 2

actor Colby Boothman-Shepard

By the very nature of the title of this film, should there really be a sequel?? In the same sense isn’t THE NEVERENDING STORY false advertising? Any who …

According the their IMDb.com page (and we know how accurate IMDb.com is), THE LAST EXORCISM 2 has pretty much completed it’s casting. The sequel is directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly and written by Donnelly and Damien Chazelle. If you remember in the first film, Nell (Ashley Bell) was possessed by a demon named Abalam who spoke through her. Now apparently said demon has a face… actor Colby Boothman-Shepard. No word yet on whether Shepard will be spending some long hours in the make-up chair or if he’s gonna be just another possessed soul. Also joining the cast are Judd Lormand, Andrew Sensenig, Spencer Treat Clark, and David Jensen.

THE LAST EXORCISM 2 is currently in post production and is expected to drop some time in late 2012 or early 2013. Here’s the plot crunch:

The sequel follows Nell (Ashely Bell), who, six months after the first film’s events, has moved to a halfway house, only to realize that the demon that has ruined her life is still after her! Without giving anything away, the sequel takes an interesting romantic approach that’s spun around Nell’s new boyfriend, Chris (Spencer Treat Clark). A subplot is that Bell is also targeted by a group of rogue reverends who mean to kill her. The twist is said to be something never before seen in an exorcism film.

The Last Exorcism Gets on my Last Nerve: The Sequel is Coming!!

THE RITE. THE LAST EXORCISM. THE DEVIL INSIDE. Hollywood is just determined to revive the exorcism genre. Unfortunately for us they can’t seem to get it right!! Well they’re gonna try again, anyway with a sequel to the 2010 film, THE LAST EXORCISM. The as of yet untitled sequel has also picked up a director, Ed Gass-Donnelly. The only interesting thing here to note in that the sequel is going to be R-rated (the original was PG-13).

According to Deadline.com. Ashley Bell is returning to reprise her role as Nell Sweetzer, and Eli Roth is again gonna produce:

The original picture centered on a charlatan exorcist facing a crisis of conscience who invites a documentary crew on his final exorcism where he comes across the possessed Nell. I’ve been told the sequel will pick up three months after that film left off, although further story details are being kept under wraps. Delivery is expected for late 2012.

Eli Roth adds:

Obviously with the title of the first one we had not planned on a sequel, but we love the story and subject matter and had what we feel is an inspired idea to continue it. As you can see from other recent films, fans around the world are fascinated by this subject matter, and we want to go deeper and darker this time.

Well I am intrigued to see what they do with an R-rating, but overall I’m not excited by this news at all. At All.

More as it develops.
